The Future is Now @ GeekHosting.com

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

For the last several months at GeekHosting.com we have been busy playing.  Literally.  We have been like a bunch of little kids after school working on a project that just seems too cool to be work.  I haven’t had this much fun since we first started GeekHosting.com and learned the world of hosting on the fly.  The difference is this time we have afforded ourselves the luxury of R&D instead of throwing ourselves to the wolves.

So what’s so great about Windows Hyper-V R2?  For starters it has limits.  Simply put, it limits the amount of VMs (Virtual Machines) you can put on a single node (physical server) so you don’t mess things up.  Why is this good?  Why would we want those limits?  Great questions, and the answer is very simple.  GeekHosting.com has NEVER been a fan of the “Unlimited Plans” and “Overselling” servers for the sake of a few extra bucks.  Hyper-V polices us for the benefit of our customers.  We will NEVER oversell, EVER!

One might wonder why the owner of a hosting company would be so excited about that, but I personally hate slow servers, upset clients, and long nights transferring accounts off of a dying server.  Hyper-V I love thee so much.

I will be writing more on my love for the new systems and the latest news with GeekHosting.com, for now if you would like to know more about Hyper-V, then just click HERE.
